Lablink's SampleIT has been designed to properly
manage this key area of the health service.
Whether
you are a GP sending samples to a local hospital for
testing or you are a laboratory issuing samples to a
referral laboratory the SampleIT is the perfect tool
for your operation. SampleIT is a one stop shop
for all your sample record requirements with easy navigation
through the different modules.
Using
its innovative communication programme requests are
automatically sent to the laboratory and results are
transmitted to the requesting doctor/consultant in minutes
irrespective of their location.

How
SampleIT Works
Through it's unique single entry system data integrity is
administered and maintained. New requests are sent
directly to the laboratory and await the physical samples
to arrive. A printout of the new requests is produced and
barcode labels are generated for all sample containers to
minimise any errors occurring. Profiles can be set up to speed
up the data entry.
Requests can be successfully amended right up until they are
sent to the laboratory.
Samples can be traced at a glance through the Results Outstanding
module with the ability to focus on samples overdue. A full
audit of requests can also be obtained from the View Requests
module.
As with all view modules there is an easy to use search facility
to enable the user to extract the information more efficiently.
The receipt of results can now be automated through the innovative
SampleIT Management Console, which enables the user
to set up and monitor all correspondence with the laboratory.
To facilitate any need for immediate receipt of urgent results
the user can over ride the SampleIT Management Console by
entering in an authorised password to decrypt the file and
import the results.
The Results module enables the user to select patients
and view all their cumulative results Colour highlighting
is used for abnormal results so that the user can see the
problem areas at a glance. A full audit trail of reports printed
is provided so that the issue of reports can be controlled.
SampleIT provides the user with the utilities needed
to maintain the system and database for example, maintain
Patients, Clinicians, Wards, System Users and Test Library.
The Test Library provides all the information needed for a
user who wants to prepare a sample for sending to a referral
laboratory, which includes specimen type, how to store the
sample for transport and turn-around-time.
The facility to produce hardcopy reports is available
to supplement the ability to view reports on screen. Similar
to the on screen viewing the abnormal results are highlighted
using colour codes. This again enables the end user to focus
his/her attention on the areas needed.
The format of the report can be amended to suit the clients
needs, for example to contain their company logo, to have
the demographics that they require, portrait or landscape,
A4 or A5.
The
transfer of data electronically has many benefits attached
especially when dealing with sample requests and results,
quicker turn-around-times, data integrity, time saved on processing
and sorting, cost to name but a few. However one of the most
important factors to take into consideration when using this
method is security and confidentiality. Lucid recognises that
every piece of data that goes through the SampleIT is highly
confidential and this is why it uses the Advanced Encryption
Standard (AES) for its data encryption.
