  Through our experienced team of Occupational Health Advisors we provide professional, flexible and effective Occupational Health Services to a variety of clients. Our OH service is of a very high and consistent standard. Lablink staff strives to grasp the nature and extent of a client's requirements and in particular gain a firm understanding a Company's culture and operating conditions.

  In addition to the normal day-to-day services we provide an essential link to the site management team on a range of Occupational Health issues. Not least in this regard has been the very active part we play in the management of some difficult cases and in particular the leading role we play in tackling absenteeism issues. Lablink recognize the importance of working closely with all departments and provide the expertise to manage the interactions between work colleagues, Health & Safety and Human Resources in line with Company policies.

  Occupational Health services include:

      Provides on site First Aid and further treatment,        manage First Aid facilities for the Company and        ensure that a team of First Aiders are well trained        and competent
      Assist in accident reporting and investigation
      Manage workplace accidents and occupational        illnesses
      Provides a service whereby concerns about the        effect of the workplace on an individuals health        can be explored
      Will advise the Company on how to control        hazards at work to minimise any medical risks of        any workpractises or procedures
      Develops and implements comprehensive        workplacepolicies
      Manages absenteeism in line with a Sickness        Absence Policy, to benefit both the employer and        the employee
      Carry out risk assessments
      Undertake training programmes for employees eg.        Manual Handling
      Perform pre-employment medicals on all employees        prior to start of contract, thereby establishing        baseline medical status, and continue periodic        medical reviews as deemed necessary
      Conduct eyesight tests and VDU workstation        assessments in accordance with legislation
      Set up Health Promotion initiatives within the        workplace
      Develop Health Surveillance programmes to        monitorthe effects of existing hazards within the        workplace and prevent their adverse effects on        the employee's health

  First Aid Training

Employers have a duty to provide trained Occupational First Aiders, the recommended number of First Aiders depends on the size and/or specific hazards of the particular workplace.

Our Occupational First Aid Instructors and Examiners are certified with the Ambulance Training Board and recognised by the Health and Safety Authority.

We run courses in Occupational First Aid, presented over at least 3 days (or 24 hours to include 2 hours examination). Certification is valid for 3 years, thereafter a refresher course is necessary. Training can be provided on or off site with all equipment, teaching aids, learning materials and certification included.


  Health Surveillance

The aim of health surveillance is to protect health and prevent occupationally related disease, due to existing hazards in the workplace. A hazard, something which has the potential to cause harm, can arise from physical agents, biological agents, stress, chemicals, bad ergonomics, infectious agents, electrical or machinery. Lablink can assist employers in meeting the legislative requirements of the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 1989 with regard to protecting the health and welfare of employees who are exposed to certain hazards.
